Last night we had a De Rosa evening. Mark Chan from I-Ride came down with some De Rosa bikes, some Fulcrum wheels and the best of the lot a BKool turbo trainer. That meant that, as well as enjoying some fine Italian wine (and Coca-cola – plug: Andy) and Italian fare, riders could then burn it off climbing the Col de Marie Blanque. We also had a chance to race up said hill on a De Rosa Merak with Campagnolo EPS (electronic shifting) – truly stunning shifting. Electronic shifting is the only way to get an instant shift on the front derailleur.
Finally I can report that the mud has gone. I ran the offroad route I’d ride to work and my shoes were as clean after the run as they were when I left home. It was bone dry -Mountain bikers – REJOICE!
